We are excited to announce the official release of the Po.et Works Explorer! The Works
Works Explorer is an interface for interacting with the Po.et Network and learning the rudimentary concepts that underpin our vision for a better web.
The intent for the Works Explorer is to be the initial starting point for people new to Po.et. It will evolve over time to include some additional functionalities, similar to some of the features you might find in a traditional blockchain explorer applications such as Blockchain.info.
How Po.et Works
At the heart of Po.et’s vision for a verifiable web is a “claim”. Claims are well-formatted, cryptographically signed JSON-LD documents that contain metadata about a specific subject or piece of content. Claims are not to be considered “truth” or “fact”, but instead, they are meant to record data in an immutable, permanent record that can be independently validated as to have originated from a specific identity.
Individual claims are batched into an IPFS directory and timestamped to the Bitcoin blockchain via a transaction that records the directory address. After being confirmed on the Bitcoin blockchain, properly formatted claims can be picked up and stored by any Po.et node.

Until now, we’ve been driving all interaction with Po.et via our API at poetnetwork.net. Using the API is by far the best way to use Po.et if you have a large number of pieces of content....
