Duncan is joining IOTA as a Junior Project Manager within the Projects and Partners team. In this role, he will focus on the formal aspects of project management while engaging with our partners and making sure projects run smoothly from initiation to delivery.
Duncan lives in East Lothian just outside Edinburgh, Scotland, and has been working as a project manager in the manufacturing industry for the past five years. He has worked on hundreds of projects, large and small throughout the UK, Europe and Middle East and is keen to transfer his knowledge from manufacturing over to IT, to help the IOTA Foundation grow.
On joining IOTA
I had been following the “cryptocurrency” hype for some time, buying my first (small amount) of bitcoin in 2014. I saw what happened in 2017 with the mass media attention, which made me re-examine the whole ecosystem and brought a few projects to light, namely IOTA. Since then the hype has come and gone, IOTA was the only part of the ecosystem with which I kept up to date.
I love how “simply” it could solve some of the intrinsic problems that DLT’s face. One transaction confirms two behind it. This seems to me to be the simplest, most elegant solution for such a huge problem! I love that it is a not-for-profit foundation. I love watching the team grow and seeing the high calibre of people who want to be involved, and I wanted to be involved.
We are very happy to be officially announcing Duncan Main joining the project, his experience as a Project Manager is of great value to the IOTA foundation. Give him a warm welcome!
